Alter Trade in the Philippines

Alter Trade in the Philippines produces the flavorful, unrefined whole cane sugar called Mascobado, which is used in the manufacture of several of Eguale’s chocolate products. The cooperative started in 1988 and today consists of around 800 members.

The Fairtrade premium goes, among other things, to education and marketing of fair trade. For example, Alter Trade runs a weekly radio program to promote fair trade at a local level.
